Biggest Issues that Higher Ed. Faces

"Think You’ll Make Big Bucks in Online Ed? Not So Fast, Experts Say"

A very interesting article that sited how institutions seeking to make large amounts of money off online learning without researching the cost have failed and had to close. "One problem with that desire, panelists said, is that starting online programs can mean significant upfront costs for technology, training, and instructional designers."
There are also advertising costs, new curriculum, etc. A very costly venture, but one that is beneficial and accessible to just about everyone.

  1. Great article. I know a number of departments on my campus are weighting the need for creating online-programs but they do not have the expertise in this area and would easily fail without outsourcing these items to companies.
